Melbourne Central and EB Games

On our way to Melbourne Central, we took a pit stop at EB Games. It was a good way to socialize and play Nintendo with everyone in our group. We all played Mario Kart and Isabella won!

We then took a tram to Melbourne Central and studied the  Marionette Fob Watch which rings every hour and opened to show us native birds, and statues playing Waltzing Matilda.

Federation Square

Having to experience Federation Square was unbelievable. A nice concrete pathway leading us into a wonderful little landmark. The iconic shops or centers surrounding it just made it feel real.
The buildings that made up Fed Square were the ACMI, Yarra Building, The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and the Ian Potter Museum. Yang Fudong Filmscapes was currently being played at the AMCI centre. Live artists such as Ilana Charnelle, Forest Falls, and Shelley Segal are currently on at Fed Square. The shapes that cover the buildings at the Fed Square are lots of tiny little triangles. These shapes make a bigger shape such as a larger triangles!

Bourke Street Mall

Bourke Street Mall was filled with loud music, intriguing people and shops waiting for customers. We saw many buskers who either played guitar or sang, accordion players and dancers. Some buskers that weren't within Bourke Street Mall were Magicians, Trumpeteers, Chalk Artists and Statue Men or Women.
One of the buskers were singing a medley of songs and played the guitar. Many people passed by and gave him coins for the entertainment he provided for the public. We reviewed him as a very soulful singer and player. His voice drifted through the street giving people the chance to stop and look at life and just enjoy the moment. He sold albums for $12 and it looked as though he enjoyed doing this as a job or hobby. He was wonderful as a player and person.
Anyone could busk in the city only if you have a busking permit you could busk in Bourke Street. We all had a good time listening to the Buskers on Bourke Street Mall!

Ian Potter Art Museum

On Thursday we all took a long walk to the Ian Potter Art Museum. The space was very open and had its own style to. The artists that were being displayed we're Emily Floyd, Robert Jacks and The Boyd  Family. The entrance fee for the gallery is allowed for the public at a cost of nothing therefore being free. As we walked into the foyer we were welcomed by various bystanders who worked there as well as the Information Centre. The Indigenous Art, Cloakroom and the Art Stores were all displayed in the foyer. Some famous Australians that were featured was The Boyd Family again, and the impact of war on their artistic output.

Blogging Matrix

As we departed from the Southern Cross Station our group started on our Matrix Questions about Public Transport. The shop below Flinders Street is Akbura Hats of Quality and nothing above the building. There are 9 clocks on the entrance and 3 trams depart from there. The Southern Cross Station's Roof is wave-liked and organic shaped. You could ride the City Circle Tram for free and the line is travelled on V-Line. They have 28 stops is total and could stop near famous landmarks like the Old Melbourne Gaol, St Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne Aquarium and the State Library. We has a fun time and enjoyed riding the trams!

William Angliss and VU

 Millie at William Angliss:
At William Angliss I experienced an inspiring tour about the love of food and cooking, we were shown different rooms for example, the chocolate room, bakeshop, bistro and the restaurants. Tess my tour guide explained the types of certificates you could apply for. The glass elevator was very exciting as you could see buildings and it felt like a carnival ride. There were displayed cakes and a dress made out of chocolate. I had a great time and it was something very different to what I usually go too.

Ary, Bella and Sabrina at VU:
At VU we discovered all different types of careers and pathways that we could chose at the university, such as business and graphics pathways. We learnt that VU has many campuses and they are all specified for certain subjects. It was very intriguing.
We then went to the State Library, and answered questions about it. It was a beautiful library with a octagonal roof! We had a really fun time.

Geo-caching

Today was our first day to the city and we started geo-caching. At first it was really hard, but we were all pumped and found our first one! It was as small as two matchboxes and was hiding under a bridge fence.
We then teamed up with the teachers and we're looking for a second geo-cache. It was located in a graffiti alleyway, and was so high up that only Mr Gorton could have found it.
We all found it so exiting and fun and hope we get to do it again.
